Gallery 9 - 2008: Magic Circle Festival
 [Sofia 2007] | December 5 2007 - I received my ticket for Magic Circle Festival 2008 in Bad Arolsen, Germany. With it came free a t-shirt and a DVD "Magic Circle Festival Vol. 1", containing 12 songs by Manowar from Kaliakra Rock Fest 2007. Priceless! |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | So our voyage began in the early hours of July 08. The same afternoon we were already in Bad Arolsen. Later there began a special fan meeting of the members of the official Manowar forum, House of Death. It was not the first time when I meet people, which I know only by their postings in a forum. But it was the first time when there was so great international variety - fans from every continent! OK, without the Antarctic. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | In fact there was a good quantity of Bulgarians. The last evening of the festival there were four Bulgarian flags in five meters on the front row before the stage. A real invasion! The flag on that picture is signed by Manowar themselves. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | As I already said, there were fans from all over the world. Some of them were very attractive, like these guys, who came with an old fire brigade truck - but now full of beer. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | If you have watched pics or videos from Demons, Dragons and Warriors tour maybe you are familiar with the viking ship from the Manowar stage. The same one was ceremonially burned on Magic Circle Festival 2008. The next day I saw a fan, who was carying a big piece of it, as a souvenir. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | On the second and the third day of the festival there were signing sessions. I expected the one with Manowar to be fast and standard (anyway there was a big queue waiting): "Hail! Hey, I am so happy to see you! Please, sign myDVD! You are great! A picture with you? Great! See you on stage!". No! The band payed attention to every single fan. They realy have a special attitude to Bulgaria - I could feel it, these are not only words. Joey and Eric jumped spontaneously from their chairs, embraced us, thanked us that we have come, told us that our country means so much to them. It was incredible moment when Manowar recognized two members of House of Death, which they have seen only on picture. This happened before my eyes, but other fans told the same. Alas, I cannot share the real emotion Manowar had. I had the feeling that they were more excited than us. Incredible people! |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | Unfortunately Scott Columbus had family problems and was not behind the drums of Manowar, but he was substituted by Rhino - known from The Triumph Of Steel album of Manowar, now a drummer of HolyHell. We found him in the audience of one of the early bands on the festival and had pictures with him. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | Now few words for the House of Death t-shirts - the artwork on them is by a girl from Poland (Kassia). We made them specially for the forum members and it was nice o meet someone else with such t-shirt. In fact, to my good surprise, there were many. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | I cannot miss to say who we met on the festival - this is the metal mayor of Kavarna, Tsonko Tsonev. On the right of the picture is Joro, well known from many Manowar DVD-s. Next to me is my good friend Alex. The fifth fan is Stas, also from our company. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | Here on this picture there are many House of Death members. Unfortunately not all members could come for it. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | The weather in Germany was bad and was raining all the days. But the rain stopped during the Manowar sets. This rainbow appeared on the third day of the festival, just before the Manowar concert, and rised the spirits even more. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | "Ladies and gentlemen, from the United States of America all hail Manowar!" With these words of Orson Welles begins every concert of the band. It was good that was allowed to take pictures, but this takes a part of the real emotion. Anyway the pictures remain. |
 [Bad Arolsen 2008] | The stage was enormous - one of the biggest ever made. I put two pictures of it, but live it is much impressive. |
