BlackWind:
Hello mates

Numerous times was mentioned what a great person person and what incredible sense of humor he had. Just like most of you, I am passing through the memories I had with Joro for the past 10 years and here is what I found, something that I had forgotten. What you will see below is written by Joro and it was published on my Manowar website back in 2002 or 2001, I am not sure. At least the Bottle Hymn lyric. Anyway, it doesn't really matter. I hope you will enjoy his lyrics. If you have a beer near by you, grab it, open it up and give Joro a cheers. I am sure he will appreciate it:

*** Bottle Hymn ***

By moonlight we drink
Ten thousand on the string
With cups full held high
The bottles empty shine
Hail to thee drunk infantry
Still drunk beyond the drums
All sworn the spirit vow
The time to drink is now

Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!

Gone are the days when we didn't drink
Now whiskey and vodka mix gin
In the light to the pub way
The empty glasses shade
How proud our soldiers drink
With cups and bottles, they sing
Sound of toast into glory drink
Over the pub on drunk wings

Vodka and gin, vodka and gin, aah!
Vodka and gin, vodka and gin, aah!
Vodka and gin, vodka and gin, aah!
Vodka and gin, vodka and gin, aah!

From the bottle we drink
We'll drink and we will sing
No money, no spirit
We'll drink the wine
Empty bottles, men drink
We'll drink and we will sing
And still no money, no spirit
We'll drink the wine

Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!

Sound of toast into glory drink
Over the pub on drunk wings
By moonlight we drink
Ten thousand on the string

Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!
Drink, drink, aah!

*** Warriors of the Pub United ***

Here our brothers stand
From all around the pub
Waiting in a line
To buy the bottle wine
All I gotta drink
Vodka, burbon, gin
there's someone fills the cup
binging vodka in the pub
we are own to drinking
for beer that is true
we're on the right to live to drink
we're here for all of you
Now spare the drink of empty glass
we'll never stop, stand and drink together
beneath the pub's table

Brothers everywhere, rase up cups into the air
we're warriors, warriors of the pub
like empty bottle shine, sworn to drink and sing
we're warriors, warriors of the pub

Many want to close pub
But they will never know
We said we would return
And here we are again
To bring of all the beer
alcochol and gin
we are the power of the flask
we are a thunder in the cup
they will stay in front
with bottles in both hands
with dreams to be sober
first try to drink a beer
I call of us, and drink with all
as the empty bottle lies
and in their final swing they say
confess before they drink

Brothers everywhere, rase up cups into the air
we're warriors, warriors of the pub
like empty bottle shine, sworn to drink and sing
we're warriors, warriors of the pub

If I should fall under table,
my brother who drink by my side,
drink from my glass and bottle,
tell my wife how I vomit.
Until that I'll be sober,
I'll drink from all that is full,
all who are standing my way
will carry me home!

blackmamba3107:
I just came back from the funeral. So many people came that the church couldn't fit us all and we were practically standing on the church doorway... so many people will miss Joro.

It was not a traditional funeral... just like Joro wasn't an average guy... His parents are amazing. In all their grief they found the strength within themselves to show us pictures of Joro with his family and friends, pictures of the different places he's been to... Joro was a journey man and today we saw him off on his last journey.

Joro's dad said that he didn't want funeral music and he put MANOWAR on. And while MANOWAR were playing we were seeing pictures from the MCF, pictures from Romania, pictures from Kavarna... pictures from all the different places he's been to.

Joro had bought a ticket for the Sonisphere festival in Sofia... a ticket he won't be able to use... But he won't need it anymore, as he'll be watching all concerts from the sky. And he'll be with us. Only we won't see him. But he'll be with us.

I am sorry guys. I am emotionally exhausted right now. I know that this post is a mess... I'm jumping from one point to another, but it will take time to gather myself together.

This post brings really a tear in my eye :'(

I hope his family can get a copie from this thread and all the pics from him and I´m sure we will rise our glasses in bulgaria all together and be quiet for a minute and honour this great person.

Katja

DD:
BlackWind, thank you for sharing these two great poems. They did make me smile. Thank you!

DD:
Katja, we'll definitely raise our glasses for Joro when you come in June.

jensjern:
All my condolences!

Just the other day, I was thinking of my extended MANOWAR family, as it has grown this year to 132 brothers and sisters from 25 countries, many of whom I met last year in Lorelei, coming to Slovenia for the MCF IV.

This sad event, and the many, many touching and moving messages of sadness and sorrow mixed with joyful memories have made it abundantly clear to me that we are, indeed, family!

R.I.P Joro

wolverinho:
My deepest condolences and all the strength I can give to those closest to Joro.

Rest in Peace, Brother. You will be with us and we will be with you in Spirit. In our hearts you'll live forever.
